FSMI OpenSource/ projects/ pam-chkpwd

This utility is intended as a generic replacement for unix_chkpwd. It uses PAM instead of the /etc/passwd or /etc/shadow files to verify the current user's password. This should allow any PAM authentication mechanism to work and not only the native unix ones.

The provided Debian package diverts unix_chkpwd, therefore serving as a drop-in replacement.

How to get it

The source code repository is available using git by running "git clone git://opensource.fsmi.uni-karlsruhe.de/git/pam-chkpwd.git". Debian packages for Debian Etch are available in our repository as well as the most current release tarball.
