We use kdm as display manager for our Linux
clients, but our Gnome users also need to be accommodated. Thus
this project provides a tiny replacement for gdmflexiserver and a
daemon providing gdm's control socket. It allows screensavers
compatible with gdm to integrate with kdm seamlessly, by
communicating with kdm via kdmctl. Both desktop environments
cooperating more in the future might make this project
superfluous.
The emulation daemon is known to work as a replacement for gdm 2.16.x as shipped by Debian and gdm 2.20.x.
